We are a family of four with 2 girls, 7 and 5. We stayed at October half term for a week. The house is fantastic as is the location. House has everything you could need and more - girls loved the big screen for DVDs and video games. We loved the Fire and cooking on the Aga in the evening. The area is great if you love walking and biking. We did several walks on the hills including one directly out the back of the house. All the walks were fantastic with great views and scenery. Within a short 5 min car ride there is a small shop and a decent pub where we had sunday lunch. We organised a tesco delivery for the morning after we arrived with all our food and drink for the week as there are no large supermarkets near by that we could find. Overall we had an excellent week and would highly recommend staying here.

We have just arrived back home from a four night stay in this wonderful house. There was 6 people in our party my wife, myself, my two children and my two best friends. Both my children are severely autistic and one of the major worries when taking them away is that they settle well without any stresses. THEY TOTALLY LOVED IT , especially the cinema room and large adventure playground of a garden to explore. We have been staying in Scotland for past 10 years now and this was the best accommodation we have stayed in, i would highly recommend for a family or a group of friends, top class . Thanks very much Linda five stars, we will be back!!!!😀😀😀😀😀
I've just arrived back from another amazing trip to Scotland, where once again I
stayed at the dreamy loch side cottage, Morelaggan. I have stayed at Morelaggan
on several occasions, in summer and in Autumn. Each visit has offered
spectacular seasonal scenery and as a photographer, it is a dream location for
me. The house is situated right on the edge of Loch Long and has a pathway
opposite the house which leads down to it's own private beach. The view from
there is inspiring and it is just a perfect place to sit, contemplate and
Because of the house's proximity to a wealth of world class walking tracks, you
can literally step out of the front door and hike up to the highest vantage
points in the area, the scenery is mind blowing. I am a keen hiker and I have
felt spoiled for choice each time I have visited the area. There are short walks
directly from the house and then for the more adventurous, there are more
challenging hikes, I enjoyed both very much. I always take my dog with me on my
adventures, and he loved every minute at Morelaggan. The house is very dog
friendly, with huge gated and secluded gardens, so my dog was able to run free
at the house without worry.
One of the things I love so much about the area is how helpful and friendly the
local people are. You don't have to go far to ask for local knowledge and people
are so happy to help. The owners of the house are lovely and they go out of
their way to make sure your stay is a perfect one. There is a lovely pub with a
beer garden just down the road, which you can walk to from the house along a
track from the garden. This walking track can be quite an exciting walk in
summer, as the vegetation runs riot, the land is so lush, but it is passable and
worth the effort. A 5 minute drive into the village, there is a convenience shop
where you can buy essentials, there is also a garage where you can buy fuel. The
nearest shop for supermarket shopping is in Helensburgh, on every occasion I
have visited, I have stocked up for the week before I have arrived at the house
and have not had to worry about the cupboards going bare.
There has been a four year gap in between my last two stays at Morelaggan and I
was amazed at the transformation that has taken place during that time. The
house has been completely renovated and last week I was amazed to see the
difference. All the rooms have been modernised to a very high standard,
immaculate and very comfortable. I think though, the thing that impressed me
most was the new architecturally designed extension. The extension has huge
windows which look out onto the Loch and the very plush and comfortable leather
suite in the living room is positioned so you can sit and relax to enjoy the
view out of the windows. There's a gorgeous wood burning stove that is a focal
point of the room and a well stocked wood shed behind the house. Evening's at
the house are quite magical. There's a lovely patio outside the extension with
seating to dine outside if the weather is good, and there is also a fantastic
gas powered barbecue to use if you want that. If you like to tickle the ivory,
there is a beautiful baby grand piano in the room so you can play whilst taking
in the view, it really is something else. From the moment you arrive at the
house, you feel at home. The place just has a great vibe and as soon as you drop
your bags inside, any stress you might have had just melts away.
There really is something special about this place, house and location combined.
Each time I have stayed at Morelaggan, I have thought 'I wish this place was
mine'. Such a wonderful place and I can't say enough great things about it. I'm
keen to plan a stay in the winter next, in the snow would be amazing. For me, I
don't think it would matter what time of year you stayed at Morelaggan, it is a
property that has it all and I love it.

I am so happy we booked here. Delightful house in a lovely location. The house is very cozy and luxury and everything is just great. The welcome brochure made everything clear. This property is located in a lovely quiet and peaceful location with superb views over Loch Long. The property was finished to an excellent standard. Very clean and very spacious. The owner (Linda) is friendly and welcoming and always on hand should you need anything. I have to say the place is absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this house to all my friends and family.

This place is amazing! There's loads for the kids to do without leaving the premises. The garden is like a big adventure playground where children and dog could run free and explore without us worrying about them escaping! We spent cosy evenings in front of the log fire & awesome cinema screen. The house had everything our families needed for a real 'home from home' feel. We had fab days out to Inveraray, Loch Lomond and more, the location is ideal. Can't thank you enough Linda, and will be return visitors for sure!
